Eastern Mansion: A Contemporary Poetic Retreat

Blending Nature and Eastern Culture in a Sample Room Design

The Eastern Mansion, designed by Goodlinks Design, draws inspiration from nature and eastern culture, creating a space that seamlessly integrates the indoors with the outdoors. With its unique blend of practicality and artistry, this design breaks boundaries and embodies the philosophical beauty of modern aesthetics.

The Eastern Mansion stands out with its contemporary interpretation of oriental ideas, offering a serene and tranquil environment amidst the chaos of modern life. The boundaries between the inside and outside are blurred, creating an integrated connection that allows for a harmonious living experience.

The design team at Goodlinks Design has carefully selected materials to bring this vision to life. Marble, ceramic tile, wood veneer, stainless steel, metal mesh, and wallpaper are used to create a harmonious blend of textures and colors. Natural wooden furniture, freehand paintings, and concise lines add a touch of Chinese-style elegance to the space.

One of the standout features of the Eastern Mansion is the staircase, which is separated by a metal net. This unique design element allows for partial visibility between the dining area and the landscape balcony, creating a sense of openness and connection.

In the study, the use of jazz white, black and white marble, and bronze brushed stainless steel creates a transparent and simple noble texture. The contrasting materials complement each other, highlighting the space's sophisticated and elegant atmosphere.

The Eastern Mansion sample room spans a total area of 189.2 square meters. The first-floor living room is completely open and magnificent, while the raised terrace and landscape in the staircase add visual interest. The difference in ceiling materials cleverly divides the space, enhancing the sense of layering and adding a delicate touch to the design.

Functionality was a key consideration in the design process. In response to the client's need for an expanded guest dining room and master bedroom, the design team opted for an open kitchen combined with a dining room. The second floor was reconfigured to create a larger master bedroom suite, complete with a cloakroom, study, and bathroom.

The Eastern Mansion project, located in Chengdu, China, was completed between February and October 2019. Throughout the design process, the team focused on simplifying complexity, highlighting details, and achieving a perfect balance between rational layout and functional use.

The Eastern Mansion's exceptional design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.

The Eastern Mansion is a testament to the power of design to create a sanctuary in the midst of chaos. With its blend of nature, eastern culture, and contemporary aesthetics, this sample room design offers a unique and inspiring living experience.
